What Joining the Microsoft Team Means
This important new role in our team is focused primarily on product communications in support of the Irish sales and marketing group – the subsidiary – and ensuring effective messaging through all our channels, especially our owned channels.
Telling stories that help people fall in love with Microsoft and the things we make through our owned channels. Developing credibility for our offerings and unique point of view across our priorities. Expanding our audience through our owned editorial connect and amplifying that communications.
Engaging employee ambassadors and broader range of new influencers. Experimenting in new mediums like visual storytelling, podcasts, and new channels. Increasing global storytelling by using data and insights and featuring local customers. Respond quickly, being adaptable, and learning.
Specific Responsibilities for this role:
Key Moments and Launches
•Support key corporate moments and launches ensuring these land effectively in our market through owned and earned channels.
•Work with WE, Corp, BG, CME, Segments and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment and maximise impact
•Extend reach to employee comms to share information and build excitement around these activities
Business to Business Communications
•Feature Tracking and pitching product and solution based business and consumer stories aligned to our priorities to ensure our BG POV is heard and included in articles
•Work with CMO to align on PULSE content daily and local SM content for uploading to Twitter/FB etc.
Consumer & Influencer Engagement
•Act as primary link to consumer team (CDS) in the UK ensuring alignment, leverage and execution of UK campaigns, seeding units for influencer engagement and influencer program
•Ensure consumer activation alignment with broader MS Ireland comms plans and cadence to maximise
Measuring and communicating our Impact
•Share news coverage, regular comms look forward and review updates, and time broadly to key stakeholders and employees
•Liaise with key stakeholders and agencies on advisories and ongoing outreach to influencers through our corporate
•Drive increased relevance and reporting/analysis of Gorkana Communications tool
Internal Comms Alignment
•Work with Employee Communications lead to ensure that external comms activities are communicated effectively to employees in real time
•Manage the day to day budget administration, raising PO’s, accruals, POE etc for this role’s specific spending .

Who We Are Looking For:
Education, Key Experiences, Skills and Knowledge:
•At least 8 – 10 years of proven leadership in developing a corporate image strategy and solid corporate communications experience
•Experience managing media relations
•Extensive experience of social and digital tools to enhance communications
•Strong project management and communication skills
•Business background and marketing experience
•Bachelor’s degree (B.S. or B.A.) required with emphasis in journalism, public relations, marketing, or communications
•Knowledge of Microsoft products and the technology industry is strongly preferred
