Overview

This is a key marketing role within Surgical Affairs, RCSI. The Digital Marketing Executive works together with the Associate Director, Surgical Affairs to develop and implement a marketing plan for the department. At the same time, manages all Surgical Affairs digital platforms, channels, and real estate.

Specifically, the duties of the post will include:
Digital Marketing
Implementing Search Engine Marketing (SEM) campaigns via Google AdWords: PPC advertising, Display advertising, and Remarketing.
Managing Surgical Affairs’ social media. Organic and paid social media marketing (via Facebook, Instagram and other channels) aimed towards conversions and using audience targeting techniques.
Performing Email marketing campaigns.
Creating and distributing online marketing literature.
Maintaining the Surgical Affairs section in RCSI’s website.
Using Search Engine Optimisation (SEO).
Using digital marketing analytics to measure and report on the performance of all the digital campaigns.

MRCS Examinations
Executing a comprehensive Integrated Marketing Communications plan to target potential candidates.
Creating and updating a suite of marketing materials to underpin the above promotional activities.
Communicating with Training Officers, Consultant Trainers, Trainees and other stakeholders in Ireland and overseas to promote RCSI Membership examinations.

RCSI Court of Examiners
Implementing a marketing plan to promote the Court’s initiative with focus on recruiting and retaining Surgical Examiners globally.
Managing communications with current Court Members, potential new Members, and other Court’s stakeholders.
Maintaining the database of marketing interactions with current Court Members, potential new Members, and other stakeholders.
Supporting the organisation of Court’s events (Annual Meetings and Dinners, Charter Day, Millin Meeting etc.)
Supporting the work of the Court’s Executive Committee.

General
Taking responsibility periodically for ad-hoc marketing projects.
Preparing ad-hoc presentations and drafting marketing proposals.
Ensuring application of RCSI brand guidelines in preparation of presentations and proposals.
Undertaking overseas travel as required in relation to role.
Complying with statutory legislation in furtherance of own and general staff welfare and safety.
Representing the best interests of RCSI at all times.
Performing such other duties as may be required.

Qualifications:
Primary degree (or equivalent) in relevant discipline.
Master degree or professional qualification in digital marketing is highly desirable.

Knowledge & Experience (essential):
Extensive marketing experience.
Experience using Google AdWords, Google Analytics, and Facebook ads.
Experience using Email marketing automation platforms.
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Knowledge & Experience (Desirable):
Proven track record in taking ownership of discrete programmes of activity.
Experience of working in 3rd level education or postgraduate medical training sector.

Skills & Competencies:
Ability to work in unstructured and complex business environment.
Ability to focus on delivering programme objectives while managing costs.
Strong mathematical and analytical skillsets.
Fluent in written and spoken business English.

Review Process:
1st Round
Phone Interviews with successful candidates will take place w/b 29th January

2nd Round
Panel based interview will take place w/b 5th February. Candidates will be required to give a brief presentation.
