Offensive Security (OffSec) is the pioneer and leading provider of online penetration testing and certification.  Built upon the belief that the only way to achieve sound defensive-security is to take an offensive approach, OffSec’s rigorous training programs have become the industry-standard and its certified alumni highly sought-after.  The company has sustained itself organically over the years, depending almost exclusively on its incredible brand authority and highly loyal customer base to drive product awareness and student acquisition.  However,  as the market for information security expands at an unprecedented rate and the competitive landscape evolves, OffSec is shifting to a more proactive, marketing-driven growth strategy.

Being the first full-time marketing hire at OffSec, the Director of Marketing will lead this exciting shift in strategy.  We are searching for a proven go-getter that will be responsible for harnessing an incredibly strong global brand and high quality website (the overwhelming majority of website traffic is either direct, referral traffic from an owned web asset, or from branded search) for the first time while also building and executing a fully-integrated, strategic marketing plan to acquire new customers and grow market share.  This is a high profile role which will report directly into executive management. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Own the online customer acquisition to maximize the direct customer acquisition
  • Optimize existing and explore new channels to increase online customer acquisition.  Start initiatives in SEO optimization and SEM where appropriate
  • Explore email marketing or other channels as appropriate to increase online acquisition
  • Manage overall online customer acquisition and the conversion funnel using data analytics, leveraging tools such as Google Analytics, and methodology such as AB testing
  • Work with creative staff to design and implement various landing pages to increase conversion
  • Develop and communicate KPIs that drive the online customer acquisition
  • Be part of the core team that drives other key marketing initiatives, such as branding, capturing and optimizing sales leads, managing social media, PR, etc..

Requirements:

  • 5+ years online customer acquisition experience in a B2C business, preferably in technology, software, information services companies
  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of B2C acquisition marketing strategy
  • Results-driven with an ability to transform high level vision and strategy into actual business impact
  • Analytical, data driven, in forming hypothesis for identifying areas of opportunity and measuring results
  • Creative, practical, agile with an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to think outside the box
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Hands on working experience with Google Analytics
  • Experience with CRM systems and marketing automation platforms like Salesforce.com, Pardot, Marketo, Hubspot a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams and key stakeholders,
  • Strong communication  and presentation skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, prioritize effectively, and deliver results in a dynamic, fast paced environment
