Overview

What you will be doing?

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

-Develop and maintain the ranking and recommendation algorithms used to optimize our content across our demand channels
-Partner with cross-functional teams to solve business problems at scale and identify trends/opportunities
-Clearly and concisely communicate analyses, recommendations, status and results to business management and executives
-Developing leading POCs to create break through solutions, performing exploratory and targeted data analyses

Skills required:

-2+ years of experience in data science and quantitative analysis, preferably at an e-commerce/technology company
-Degree in a quantitative/technical field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering.
-Experienced working in a fast-paced e-commerce/online-based company.
-Deep expertise in at least one of the buckets below:
oPreferred data capabilities: SQL capability; knowledge of both batch and streaming technologies (e.g. Spark); knowledge of ETL frameworks in Python (e.g., Airflow, Luigi); familiarity with Amazon data infrastructure
oPreferred programming capabilities: knowledge of Python or R (Python preferred), including knowledge of object-oriented and functional principles; knowledge of C++; ability to build APIs for machine learning, both in production and offline to support analysis (e.g., with Flask)
oPreferred machine learning capabilities: knowledge of machine learning algorithms (logistic regression, random forest, etc.); experience with CUDNN (C++ library), Theano, Tensorflow; knowledge of deep learning methodologies
oPreferred statistics capabilities: knowledge of test analysis methods and setup; knowledge of Bayesian and frequentist methods
-Comfortable manipulating and analysing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
