Glanbia Ingredients Ireland is Ireland’s largest dairy company, annually processing over 2 billion litres of milk into a uniquely broad range of ingredients for export to more than 60 countries. We supply leading multinational food and nutrition companies – across a range of sectors from branded cheese and butter through to infant formula, sports, affordable and clinical nutrition for both developed and developing markets.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Marketing department of Glanbia Ingredients Ireland, for a Market Insights Manager.
This senior level role will report to the Head of Marketing at Glanbia Ingredients Ireland and will have responsibility for providing intelligence and insight on targeted international markets to drive commercial and innovation strategy primarily for Glanbia Ingredients Ireland (GII) and, as required, for Glanbia Consumer Foods’ International division. The role is based in Ballyragget with some flexibility on location considered.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own the Insight function within GII Marketing team to deliver a comprehensive analysis & interpretation of key data across the 5Cs: Customer, Consumer, Category, Competitor & Channel within an international context.
  • Provision of key market data across a broad range of sectors/ industries including ingredient and end market evaluation as well as trends analysis.
  • Responsible for generation of leverageable customer & consumer insights which, in tandem with Marketing, Business Development and Innovation functions will inform key strategic projects within the business.
  • Identification of key players (customers/competitors) within specified markets and delivery of in depth company profiles.
  • Liaise with Sales team to access customer data and formalize insight generation.
  • Technical knowledge & understanding to deliver insight to the business around ingredient opportunities for B2B.
  • Ability to undertake brand mapping exercises within specified end markets and geographies to determine competitive landscape and opportunity areas.
  • Form an efficient working relationship with key providers of data to secure access to most up to date and relevant sources of market intelligence.
  • Utilise online platforms and corporate listening service to extract insights from both customers and consumers within target market sectors.
  • Ensure GII is fit for purpose and adequately resourced around access to information and make appropriate recommendations on data purchase if required.
  • Assist with any proprietary qualitative or quantitative research that’s undertaken & work with relevant agency personnel to deliver.
  • Prepare & disseminate monthly & ad hoc insight reports to ELT and Commercial colleagues.
  • Advise on best practice techniques for insight generation within a B2B environment
  • Form relationships with insight functions in the broader Glanbia PLC business.
Role Requirements
  • Third level qualification in marketing, business, psychology or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience working within an insight function within an international B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering customer and consumer insights to drive strategic initiatives within an export led industry.
  • Passionate about research methodology and driven to understand market dynamics and what is driving performance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a willingness to represent a point of view with conviction.
  • Analytical but with a strong initiative to progress and manage projects on time.
  • Ability and confidence to interact with senior management across a variety of functions.
  • Results oriented and KPI driven.
  • Motivated and driven to progress.

GII has five key manufacturing sites, Ballyragget Co Kilkenny (the largest integrated milk processing plant in Europe), Virginia Co Cavan, Wexford, Carrick-on-Suir and Belview Co. Kilkenny which will increase business processing capacity by 50% over the next five years.
